Joining Thames Valley IVCHow to JoinIf you are interested in joining the club the first thing you should do is contact our membership secretary either by:
You will be sent further information about the club and a bulletin free of charge. Have a look through it and choose something that interests you. You are warmly invited to attend any event but please call the organiser in advance. He or she will give you more information, such as directions or booking details. If you let them know that you are a prospective or new member, they will keep an eye out for you at the event and make you welcome. If you think you may be interested in joining the club you can become a temporary member first. This costs £6 and lasts for 3 months, during which time you will receive further monthly bulletins and also any news updates. This will give you the opportunity to come to more events and get to know the club before you apply for full membership. After you have been to several events and been able to meet other members of the club, including some of the committee, you can apply for full membership. The membership secretary will send you an application form and tell you how much of the £26 annual membership fee will be due to cover the remainder of the year. The committee will consider your application at their next meeting, normally held once per month. The membership secretary will then contact you to let you know whether or not your application has been successful. If it has you will asked to send a cheque for the fee due, and any unused months of your temporary membership will be refunded. Please read the formal sections below that have to apply, but don't be put off by them, we really are a friendly and informal club. Conditions of ApplicationMembers and prospective members participate in club activities entirely at their own risk, and Thames Valley IVC accepts no responsibility for personnel actions, losses, damage or injury to members, prospective members or their property, howsoever caused.
