Enjoying Activities with Friends

Get more out of life by sharing your interests! Christmas Lunch

Although there is even more choice of leisure activities these days, the best time is had when activities are shared with friends.  TV IVC gives you the chance to expand your circle of friends and add new interests.

When you fill in the online application form please let us know what type of activities and events you are interested in, both ones that might be prepared to organise and any others that you would just like to come along to.  The membership secretary will then be able to give you more information about the events that you might especially be interested in, and put you in contact with members with similar interests if you wish.

Finding out about Events

This website is the best place to find the latest news of events that the club is organising.  Full and temporary members can see full details of all events, but the public, and people who have signed up but haven't become temporary members yet, may not see all the events and won't be able to see members' personal contact details.

We also publish full details of all events in a monthly bulletin,  which also includes additional events organised by neighbouring clubs where TV IVC members have been invited to attend, and all national events.  The bulletin is distributed to full and temporary members by email or post (for an additional fee).  Individual members can also easily send out updates via an email distribution system.

Attending Events Apres Gliding

Attendance of events is purely optional, so you are free to go to whichever activities appeal to you, and as frequently as you choose.  Some members just go to a few events that they are especially interested in, whilst others go to most of the events!

Some events require booking in advance, whilst for others you can just turn up on the day, and all booking deadlines would be stated on the website in the bulletin.

The club does not try to make a profit from events, in fact it subsises some through the voucher reward scheme.  If you received a £5 voucher for organising an event you can then use it to get a discount off a paid for event that another member is organising.

Organising Events

Although the committee organises many of the events, especially the larger ones, individual members are encouraged to organise the type of events they enjoy.  You might want to organise an event because you have a area of special interest or expertise that you can share with other members, would like to try something new together with friends, or perhaps just want some others to join you in something you already enjoy.
